EPISODE 16: "The Perilous Pogo Stick Predicament"

DR. FUMBLE

(entering the room)
Mortimer! You've returned from space! But what's this bouncy blunder that has you bedridden?

MR. MORTIMER
(grimacing)
Doc, after my alien adventure, I wanted to feel grounded again, so I took up pogo sticking. But I got stuck in a never-ending bounce, and now my legs are broken!

NURSE NUTTY enters the room, wearing a helmet and knee pads, carrying a toolbox.

NURSE NUTTY
(concerned)
Dr. Fumble, we need to detach the pogo stick and fix Mortimer's legs before he's doomed to bounce forever!

DR. FUMBLE
(determined)
You're right, Nurse Nutty! Let's get to work!

[NURSE NUTTY and DR. FUMBLE use tools from the toolbox to carefully separate the pogo stick from MR. MORTIMER's legs. As they work, the pogo stick suddenly springs to life, bouncing around the room and knocking over medical equipment.]

MR. MORTIMER
(panicking)
Doc! The pogo stick is alive! Make it stop!

DR. FUMBLE
(thinking)
We need something to capture the rogue pogo stick! Nurse Nutty, grab the giant butterfly net from last week's episode!

[NURSE NUTTY rushes to grab the butterfly net and, with DR. FUMBLE's help, they capture the pogo stick. However, in the chaos, the pogo stick strikes MR. MORTIMER in the chest, causing him to gasp for breath.]

MR. MORTIMER
(gasping)
Doc... I can't... breathe...

[Despite their best efforts to save him, MR. MORTIMER dies as the hospital staff look on, devastated.]

DR. FUMBLE
(tearfully)
Mortimer... We've lost you once more.

NURSE NUTTY
(sadly)
He came back down to Earth, only to bounce back into the great beyond.

[The camera pans out as the hospital staff gather in the room, mourning MR. MORTIMER's death, while "Jump" by Van Halen plays softly in the background.]

FADE OUT.
